Benefits of Joining

Access to monthly events, primarily which are free for all members, including a professional development series, Inside the Metro events that access key leaders and mentors in the Metro Area, and networking and social events to get to know other young professionals in the community is the biggest benefit of joining.

As the 2013 Chair, Todd Ashworth has said, “HYP helps its members to understand the business world inside of Hickory and the surrounding area, along with the inter-workings of the City, and to better understand the people in the community.” Being a member has helped his business. He now has clients that he met through HYP and referrals from HYP members. “You never know the relationship you are going to make that might make an impact,” said Ashworth. “I encourage people to get involved. People will see your worth. An organization like HYP helps you to highlight and increase your skills.” Because he is the current chairman of HYP, he also gets to sit on the Catawba County Chamber of Commerce board, as an ex-officio member, as HYP is a branch of the Chamber.
