Marcie Spivey, Martin Starnes & Associates, CPAs, P.A., Chair of the Advisory Board

Marcie Spivey is a partner at Martin Starnes and Associates, CPAs, P.A. and has been with the firm over 20 years.  She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in accounting from Lenoir-Rhyne University in 1996.  Marcie is an active member of the American Institute of CPAs and the North Carolina Association of CPAs where she serves as a member of the NCACPA Government Auditing and Accounting Committee as well as the Technical Resources Subcommittee.  She is active in the Catawba County Chamber of Commerce and serves on the Women's Resource Center Board as Secretary.  She lives in Conover with her husband and is interested in gardening, painting, and reading suspense novels.

 

Lindsay Keisler, Catawba County Chamber of Commerce

Lindsay Keisler grew up in Conover, NC and graduated from UNC Charlotte in 2009 with a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration, majoring in Marketing.  Lindsay has held several roles in her tenture at the Catawba County Chamber of Commerce, and she now serves as CEO.  She is passionate about Catawba County, specifically in the area of community and economic development.

Lindsay has served as the Chamber Liaison for the Hickory Young Professionals since 2010 where she has served many hats in the effort to grow and sustain the organization.  Lindsay resides in Conover with her husband, Corey, and considers her most important role to be mother of her son, Jeb Franklin.

 

Mark Seaman, Hickory Crawdads

2017 marked the 10th season for Mark Seaman as General Manager of the Crawdads.  Prior to working in Hickory, he worked for the Tennessee Smokies for 11 years from 1994 until 2004.  In between the Smokies and Crawdads, he worked three years for a starup NASCAR team, FrontRow Motorsports. 

Mark has been married to his wife Jennifer for 16 years and they have two four-legged kids, dog Tobi, and cat Tabby Kat.  Mark graduated from the University of Tennessee with a BS degree in Private and Commercial Recreation.

Mark is active in the community.  He serves on the Hickory Metro Sports Commission, where he's serving his sixth consecutive year as President and Chairman.  He just finished six years on the Board of the Hickory Rotary Club in which he was President from 2016-2017.  He previously served on the Catawba County Chamber Board, Leadership Catawba Board, in which he was in the 2013 Leadership Class.  He is also on the local Catawba County Sports Hall of Fame Committee, the DICK'S Sporting Goods Classic basketball tournament committee, as well as a member of the Hickory Elks Lodge.

Dana Kaminske, The City of Hickory

Dana Kaminske is the Communications and Marketing Manager for the City of Hickory.  She has been with the City for more than five years.  Growing up outside of Pittsburgh, PA, moving to Charlotte, NC, and then to Conover, NC, Dana has lived in Catawba County for the past 17 years and brings years of a variety of experiences with her to her role, which includes overseeing the branding, marketing, communications, and public relations department.  Dana has her undergraduate and master’s degrees in Communications and Training and Development from Clarion University of Pennsylvania.  Dana served as the Hickory Young Professionals President in 2012, and served on the board for six years.  Dana is the President-Elect of the North Carolina City and County Communicators organization.  Additionally, she serves as the Public Relations/Media Chair for the Susan G. Komen Northwest NC Race for the Cure, which she has held for five years. 

Dana believes in seeing and talking about the glass being half full for Catawba County, not half empty.  Always working to promote economic development and a place for people to want to live, work, shop, learn, worship, and build a life here is her mission, professionally, and personally.  She has experienced all of that first hand, choosing to move here in her twenties and stay here.  Her and her husband, Daniel, enjoy spending time with their fur babies, at their church, and with family and friends.
